Karsten Danes
Our Farm
Located along the beautiful Magalies Mountain Range, is our avocado farm, Karsten Hills. Our farm is family owned and operated. Along with our avocados, we raise cattle, sheep, chickens, turkeys, bees and our beloved Great Danes.
Our Great Danes are part of the family and have full access to our farm. All of our Danes are well socialized with people and animals. So much so, that at times it is difficult to differentiate our black and white Ngunis from our harlequins, they are "almost" the same size!

Temperament is very important to us, for this reason we ensure our dogs are well socialized with other dogs and people, especially children. Great Danes are family dogs, we do not raise our Danes in cages or pens. Cages and pens lead to frustration and aggression, we want our Danes to remain the gentle giants that they are.
We pride ourselves in finding the perfect homes for our puppies. Our puppies find their homes nationwide and even abroad. Having previously exported puppies to Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe, we are always willing to assist with travel arrangements. Our Story
With a love for the Great Dane breed, we decided to begin breeding in 2021 with our Sire, Brutus and Dam, Bella. Brutus, black with a German bloodline, and Bella, a stunning harlequin. We registered our kennel and began breeding for the advancement of the Great Dane breed in South Africa. Brutus had an excellent temperament, completed health checks, large jowls and a strong conformation. All qualities that contribute to advancing the breed. Our goal has aways been to breed for excellent temperament, health and stunning Great Dane features.

Since then, our Great Dane family has grown to six. Our Kennel, Karsten Danes and all of our dogs and puppies are registered with Canine SA. Canine SA is the largest private genealogy registrar in South Africa. We are ethical breeders and follow the Canine SA Code of Ethics. Our Great Danes are health tested annually by our personal vet and have been through several breed specific screenings.

We are always available to answer any questions or concerns and we provide ongoing support once you are a part of the Karsten Dane family.

We welcome you to visit our farm and Great Danes should you be interested in a puppy in the future. You can view our proper nursery facility for our dams and their litters, as well as visit our furry family members.
